10.30 Dr Susan Andrew ‘Church Houses in Devon: Community, Continuity and Change’. Built in the late 15th and early 16th centuries to accommodate Church Ales and other Parish gatherings, Church houses survive in Devon in remarkable numbers.
11.50 Dr Bridget Gillard ‘A Serious House On Serious Earth It Is: A reflection on the significance of historic church interiors’. Looking at the treasures of Devon church interiors and explaining their significance in the history of church, society, art and architecture.
2.00 Robert Hesketh ‘Exploring Exeter’s Tudor and Regency Heritage’. Not only discussing buildings, but also events that happened in Exeter during this period.
