Spring Meeting 2018 (Buildings Section)
10 March 2018 at 2:15 pm
The afternoon will begin with a talk by Martin Watts on Linhays, a type of farm building found particularly in Devon. It is characterised as a two-storied building with an open front, with a hay-loft above and livestock housing below. It often has a lean-to roof and the front generally consists of regularly spaced pillars or columns.
Afterwards, there will be a shorter presentation from Dr Philip Hickman on his work at Exeter Cathedral investigating the void to the north of the Great West Porch, supported by a donation from the Buildings Section towards costs.
This will be followed by tea and refreshments provided by the committee.
