This paper by Richard Nicholls Worth dates from 1879 so any conclusions that he draws must be considered in the light of later research. It is notable, however, for including a complete copy of William Browne’s poem or ‘satirical sketch’ entitled “Lydford Law” that starts:
I oft have heard of Lydford law
How in the morn they hang and draw,
And sit in judgment after.
