A Lifetime of Ornithology in Devon and Beyond (E Devon Branch)

A talk by Dr. Humphrey Sitters.

Dr Sitters is a former President of the Devon Birdwatching and Preservation Society ( now Devon Birds). In this talk, he will describe his early work on the project to produce the first Atlas of Breeding Birds in Devon (a complex project that took 12 years from start to publication) followed by an 8 year study on night feeding by oystercatchers on the Exe estuary. More recently, as editor of the journal Wader Study, he has travelled worldwide studying these fascinating birds and their long distance flight paths.
