An afternoon of poetry and music (Lit & Art and Music Sections)

Sat. 21 September 2019 at 2:30 pm

£2 – £3

CHEMISTRY, GOOD AND BAD

Our Literature & Art and Music Sections jointly present an afternoon of poetry and music from ‘Notewordy‘ otherwise James Turner, poet, and Ric White, flute, saxophone, keyboard and electronics.

Exeter-based James Turner is a retired university library assistant, and an acclaimed poet with two published collections: ‘Forgeries’ and ‘A Chance of Love’. He has been Exeter Slam Champion (an annual performance competition) and regularly performs in local venues, often in company with improvising musicians.

Ric White plays saxophone, flute and a variety of electronic instruments – a mixture of improvisation, pre-composed structures and soundscapes. In over 45 years of playing he has performed in rock, jazz and experimental ensembles as well as composing for theatre and dance performances.
