Event Navigation
This is now the definite date of this event – see below.
A visit to see High Brown Fritillaries and other butterflies and wildlife at Spitchwick Common on Dartmoor. To be led by Jenny Plackett, Conservation Manager South West for Butterfly Conservation – a follow-up to her talk to the Branch on 20 March.
Last month’s fine weather has brought the season forward, so Jenny has decided that Monday 16 June will be a favourable date for our visit.
Note that the ground is rough and that suitable footwear and long trousers are necessary. There will be ticks present, possibly stinging insects, brambles and rough growth/bracken. Sun cream/insect repellent may be needed. A first aid kit will be available.
Numbers are limited and booking is essential. Contact the Organiser as soon as possible to book your place(s) for the visit on 16 June. We will be contacting those who have already expressed an interest.
We will gather from 10:30 am at Newbridge car-park (grid ref 711709, What3words ///conclude.sloping.revamping) for an 11:00 start – full details will be sent to those who book a place. Car sharing is recommended if possible. There is no charge, but donations will be welcomed on the day.
