Devon Clockmakers (Bideford Branch)

A talk on Devon Clockmakers. The speaker David Thompson, FSA, FBHI, FAHS is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers and was Curator of Horology at the British Museum for over 30 years.

Turret clocks in church towers, precision timekeepers at sea, lantern and longcase clocks as well as table clocks and watches. Over the centuries Devon has seen them all. David Thompson’s illustrated talk will look at the people and their work.


Places at this live meeting will be strictly limited and will be on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to Branch members. Inquiries no later than Wednesday 17th November. All members of the Association will be able to join via Zoom without charge or booking. Please contact the Organiser (details below) no later than Wednesday 17th November.


Please note that a contribution presently £1 (DA members) £3 (non-members) is requested by all attending to help cover costs. For the time being, there will be no costs for joining ‘Zoom’ meetings.
