Exploring the Indigo Trail (Lit & Art Section)

Sat. 27 November 2021 at 2:30 pm

£2 – £3

An illustrated talk “Exploring the Indigo Trail: art, writing and journeys of all kinds” to be given by Jenny Balfour-Paul.

Jenny is a writer and artist, who has travelled to fascinating places worldwide in her research into the history of natural dyes. She lectures internationally. She has authored three books on indigo, and many papers and articles.

She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Exeter University, a Fellow and former Trustee of the Royal Geographical Society, the Royal Asiatic Society and the Explorers Club, and a past President of UK’s Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. She has curated major exhibitions and been a consultant for documentaries. Her collections are in major UK museums.

Much in demand as a speaker, we are delighted to have her; this is certainly a date for your diary!

All are welcome. DA members £2, non-members £3, but there will be an extra bowl where those who have enjoyed any of the Section’s zoom talks may make donations if they wish.
