Field Trip to Burrator (Geology Section)

To be led by Prof. John Mather and Dr Jenny Bennett.

The aim of the excursion is to view the contact between the emplacement of the Dartmoor granite and the Upper Devonian rocks and to investigate the effect of the geology on the landforms.

Jenny writes, “This is a good ‘beginners’ trip so we would particularly like to welcome members who feel that they don’t know very much geology – this is a great place to look closely at the granite. But there is plenty for everyone to see”.
 
The usual DA field trip charge of £3 per person will be collected on the day – in change would be appreciated!
