Industrial Archaeology of the Upper Plym Valley (IA Section)

This field trip will explore the industrial remains to be found in a walk from Shaugh Bridge car park to look at the china clay dries, brickworks and iron ore mining and tramway remains. The walk will be guided by Ernie Hoblyn, author of Industrial Archaeology of the Plym Valley.
Members can bring a pack lunch or may prefer to arrange lunch independently at a nearby pub.

Registration is required as numbers are limited and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Please register for a place on the walk with the organiser, as below. The fee will be £3 for DA members and £5 for non-members and guests.
Members will need to exercise their own discretion about Covid precautions. We assume that they will have received double vaccination and that they will not join the walk if they have symptoms of fever, cough or malaise that might be due to Covid infection. Mask-wearing and social distancing are up to members’ judgement.
