Lady Chapel and Bishop’s Palace Gardens (Exeter Branch)
Wed. 13 May 2020 at 1:00 pm
£12 – £17.40
This one and a half hour guided tour will begin with a summary of the building of the medieval Gothic Exeter Cathedral and a look at the Lady Chapel both from the inside and from the Bishop’s Palace gardens.
The Right Reverend Robert Atwell, Bishop of Exeter, is a keen horticulturist who believes that the public should have the opportunity to enjoy the gardens, which were mainly set out during the 18th century among lawns and trees and are not normally open to the general public.
The tour will end with a visit to the Cathedral shop (2.30 pm to 2.45 pm), followed by an optional cream tea at the Cathedral Café.
Participants should gather outside the main entrance to the Cathedral (West End). Booking is required as the number of participants is limited to 25.
Cost: £12 per person for the tour, plus £5.40 per person for the cream tea.
