A one day ‘pavement geology’ trip to Taunton, to be led by Garry Dawson.
A visit to the new Carnian(*) outcrop at the Park & Ride by junction 25 of the M5, followed by a walk around Taunton town centre to look at the building stones.
(*) part of the Triassic period (c. 230 million years ago).
Taunton is excellent for building stones with Devonian, Carboniferous, Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous and Eocene to be seen. For those who are interested Taunton Museum has a good geology section.

Cost will be £5 for DA members, £7 non-members.
