Putting the N back into the NMA – the journey from NMA to OCT

Tue. 16 April 2024 at 7:00 pm

Free – £2.50

A Zoom talk presented by Roger Maslin – CEO of The Ocean Conservation Trust

Roger Maslin has been the CEO of the Ocean Conservation Trust (OCT) for seven years, following 30+ years in the corporate world, including over a decade in booze and nearly 17 years helping to redevelop and then run the new – or now not so new – Wembley Stadium.

The transition of the National Marine Aquarium (NMA) located in Plymouth has been a challenge, with a bridge closure, global pandemic, Brexit, a war in Eastern Europe and an energy crisis being just some of the obstacles faced. Despite this, we have been able to set a clear ocean conservation strategy, based around three core ocean programmes, all geared to delivering a healthier ocean. Roger will attempt to cover some the “fun” he and his team have had along the way!

The Ocean Conservation Trust is a global charity working towards a vision of a healthy Ocean (https://oceanconservationtrust.org/).

Please book with the organiser (details below) by a day before the event. You will be sent a link to access the Zoom session.

This talk is part of The Devonshire Association Monthly Lecture Series – a programme of talks on a wide range of topics presented by informed and respected speakers throughout the year using Zoom technology.
