Recent archaeological discoveries in Devon (Bideford Branch)

Fri. 17 February 2023 at 2:00 pm

£2 – £4

A talk by Steve Reed about recent archaeological discoveries in Devon.

Steve Reed is the Senior Historic Environment Officer at Devon County Council’s Historic Environment Team providing heritage advice to planning authorities and developers. His role is to ensure that impact on the county’s heritage is conserved, or if it has to be lost it is investigated and recorded prior to any development taking place.

The historic environment includes a wide range of evidence that our ancestors have left. From urban streetscapes to rural landscapes it ranges from individual structures to finds of coins and stone tools. This work has significantly increased our knowledge of the county’s heritage which Steve says he’ll be illustrating throughout his talk.

Booking essential by a week before the event, please.

Cost: DA members £2, non-members £4.

This talk replaces the one entitled “Three years at Marwood” previously planned for this date.
