A couple of newly researched documents have shed light on events in Appledore and Northam in the 1420s – a period usually devoid of detail. Throw Riot, Rebellion and Religion into the pot, and local historian David comes up with a fascinating snapshot of people and their lives at this time. However these events have echoes which can be seen today, and one of them led to a 600th anniversary which happened in 2023.
