To be held by Zoom video conferencing
Robin Wootton will give the first Zoom talk of the Literature and Art section.
Robert Graves was one of the most distinguished and most versatile literary figures of the last century: a major poet, but also an accomplished novelist, a classical scholar, a biographer, a translator, and an influential, though highly controversial writer on mythology. Throughout the second world war he lived in Galmpton, between Brixham and the Dart. The talk will summarise his eventful life, and will focus on his time and writings in Devon – a quiet interval midway through his complicated, colourful career.
