When Dave Westcott retired from teaching, he decided to walk the entire South West Coast Path which stretches 1,014 km from Minehead around much of the West Country to South Haven Point at the entrance to Poole Harbour: it is also the longest National Trail in Britain.
He has completed the walk three times, and has tried to assimilate and convey the wonderful sights, history, wildlife and stories of people in a series of published Walking Guides and through several illustrated talks.
One of the most fascinating stretches is along the south coast of Devon from Starcross to Plymouth – the subject of this presentation.
