A talk by Dr Stuart Windsor.
This talk is about the life of Stuart’s great-grandfather, Tom Robins, as told through his diaries. Tom kept a farm work diary from the time that he started farming in 1908 until he died in 1957. Amazingly all of the diaries still exist and are in the hands of the family. He was a farmer who farmed on the fringes of Exmoor. In some ways his life was that of most hill farmers but he was also heavily involved in the war effort and had a profound love of Exmoor. He was awarded the MBE for Services to Exmoor.
