Beechwood is a Georgian Manor house built in 1779 and was formerly the home of Field Marshal Sir John Colborne (Lord Seaton) who served the Duke of Wellington, most notably during the Peninsula Wars and the Battle of Waterloo. The current owner, William Mackrell, will give an introductory talk about Lord Seaton, following which we will tour the main rooms on the ground floor of the house and visit the gardens. Tea will be served at the end of the visit.
The cost will be £22.00. Booking essential. Maximum of 20 members attending with priority given to Buildings Section. Details on how to pay will be sent to those who have booked.
