Sat. 13 July 2024 at 2:00 pm

The Cistercian Abbey of Cleeve, although without the abbey church destroyed in 1536, retains some remarkable buildings including cloisters, a gatehouse and refectory. There will be a guided tour lasting at least 1¼ hour.

14:00: Meet on site at the ticket office

Directions and access: Abbey Road, Washford, Somerset TA23 0PS, ¼ mile south of A39. There is a car park opposite the abbey and disabled access to the grounds and ground floor (including the disabled toilet). There is no wheelchair access to the first floor or second floor. The exhibition includes a touch-screen virtual tour for visitors unable to get around the site.

Cost of the event: £9 per person, assuming a minimum group of 11 persons. Snacks can be purchased at the shop on site.

Leader: Jonathan Aylett
