Cancelled – Visit to Drake’s Island (Plymouth Branch)

This event has been cancelled at short notice by the organising company for safety reasons.

This joint Devonshire Association / Royal Geographical Society visit to Drake’s Island is an opportunity to explore the island’s rich military history as a fortress including buildings, tunnels, gun casemates and views.  

Fee for this event lasting more than two hours covering combination guided tour and ferry trips £25 per person.  Meet at the Barbican landing stage near the Mayflower steps at 1.45 pm for 2 pm boat departure.

Some general information that might be helpful – conditions rough under foot, steps and tunnels. Sensible footwear recommended and have waterproof clothing available. No disability access to or around island.
