£8 – £10

A visit to this hidden early-20th-century Italianate garden near Ipplepen.

We meet at 10.45am at Ambrook for an 11am start. There is very restrictive parking so please car share. Some areas of the gardens are steep, there are steps and uneven ground so please wear suitable footwear. It will be muddy if it is wet. Please note there are no toilets or tea shop. Fermoy’s garden centre is the nearest place to have a drink and use the facilities.

It is not easy to find so please make sure you have plenty of time. For visitors with Sat Nav, use postcode TQ12 5UL.

From the A381, take the turning to Ipplepen Centre signposted Ipplepen/Torbryan/Broadhemptson into Foredown Road. Continue straight through the village centre to Ipplepen Village Hall, then follow the road round to the right signposted Torbryan/Broadhempston. Continue over Orley Common towards Broadhempston. Turn left at the signpost to Littlehempston/Totnes. Turn left into Great Ambrook Avenue and follow the single track private lane round to the right. As you exit through the stone pillars at the top of hill, the garden entrance is signposted immediately on your right.

The cost is £8 for DA members, £10 for non-members. Pease pay by cash or cheque on the day.
