Visit to Museum of Barnstaple & N Devon (Bideford Branch)

The Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon is, we’re told, a ‘centre of curiosity, a house of stories and a place for learning’ all of which sounds absolutely fascinating. In addition, at this present time there is an exhibition inspired by the Museum’s Partridge Collection.

The young Ethel Partridge was a collector of local fossils which she then gave to the North Devon Athenaeum  in 1907 and which now resides with the Museum. Researching her collection, the Museum discovered that there was far more to Ethel’s story and that her brother Fred had a story to be told as well. From all accounts they are both well worth hearing.
