Visit to Tavistock (IA Section)

Meet at the Robey Trust Museum at 11:00 am. for a guided visit to the museum with an introduction by Bryan Edwards from the Trust.

After lunch (attendees should bring a pack lunch), at 1.30 pm: a short talk at the museum by Robert Waterhouse about the history of the Tavistock Canal, followed by a guided walk along part of it.

There will be a charge of £3 for DA-members and £5 for non-members (cash please).

The Robey Trust is a charitable organisation in Tavistock, Devon, dedicated to the preservation, restoration, operation and display of steam vehicles and other historic engines, especially items manufactured by Robey & Co Ltd of Lincoln. The Trust is located at New Perseverance Ironworks, Parade Business Park, Pixon Lane, Tavistock, Devon PL19 9RQ. There is ample parking and full disabled access. Toilets are available at The Trust.

Directions for Pixon Lane: from Plymouth Road (A 386) turn right after old railway bridge into parking area. Cross this and look for a junction on the right. Two roads lead from the junction. Take the right-hand road and look for Robey works gates after 100m.
