Visit to the workshops of Leaky Finders (IA Section)

Thu. 30 November 2023 at 11:00 am

£10

A visit to the workshops of Leaky Finders, specialists in steam and heritage engineering.

Apart from winning an award for its creative company name, Leaky Finders – founded by Rory Edwards in 2018 – has developed a reputation for its work in restoring vintage locomotives and rolling stock. Since 2022 it has worked from a purpose-built 5,000 sq. ft. workshop equipped with a 20-ton overhead gantry crane at the Antique Village (formerly Fagin’s Antiques) just off the B3181 between Killerton and Bradninch (signposted Hele and Bradninch) EX5 4PW.

Leaky Finders has restored locomotives for the heritage railways of Bodmin, Paignton and West Somerset and, is at present working on a major firebox repair for Clan Line, a Merchant Navy Pacific locomotive.

The tour starts at 11am. We can assemble at 10.30 to purchase coffee at The Antique Village. Lunch afterwards at a local pub is an option. Numbers are limited to 30 so registration is required.

The fee for both DA-members and non-members is £10, which will be donated to the Merchant Navy Loco Preservation Society.
